Language audit for companies

Assess your team's language skills and strategically invest in performance.

Request a language audit

In today's business environment, language skills are no longer an added benefit. They are a condition for performance, effective negotiation, and international positioning.

But the essential question is: Do you know exactly what the real level of your team is?

Why is a language audit necessary?

Many companies assume that employees
"they can handle" English or other foreign languages.

But in reality they appear:

  • unconvincing presentations to international partners
  • ambiguous or unclear emails
  • difficulties in negotiations
  • lack of fluency in calls or meetings
  • misuse of specialized terminology

A language audit provides objective and measurable clarity on the actual level of proficiency.

What is language audit?

The language audit is a structured evaluation process that determines:

  • the actual CEFR level of each employee
  • written and oral communication skills
  • the ability to use the language in business contexts
  • the differences between the current level and the level required for performance in the role

The result is a clear map of the language skills in the organization and a personalized intervention plan.

How is the audit process carried out?

What exactly do you get?

  • Individual CEFR report for each participant
  • Competence map by department
  • Identifying critical gaps
  • Recommendation of optimal training structure
  • Indicators for measuring progress
  • Solid basis for budget decisions

    FAQ

    About the language audit

    1. What differentiates a language audit from an online test?

An online test usually provides an automatic score based on standardized exercises. The IH language audit includes individual oral assessment, role-based contextual analysis, correlation with company objectives and a strategic report for management. We do not just measure the general level, but the real performance capacity in business contexts.

    2. How long does the process take?

The duration depends on the number of participants and the complexity of the organizational structure. On average, the complete process (analysis, testing, reporting) takes 1–3 weeks. For large companies, the audit can be phased into departments so as not to affect current activity.

    3. Can it be done online?

Yes. The audit can be implemented entirely online, using secure platforms for testing and individual interviews. Alternatively, it can be conducted at the company's premises or in a hybrid format, depending on the organization's preferences and internal policy.

    4. Can we customize the assessment by industry?

Yes. The assessment can integrate terminology and situations specific to your industry (IT, finance, legal, pharma, retail, etc.). This way, the report reflects the skills relevant to the team's real work, not just the general language level.

    5. What type of report does management receive?

The final report includes individual CEFR levels, aggregated analysis by department, identification of critical gaps, prioritization of interventions and clear recommendations for training structure. The document is designed to support budgetary and strategic decisions of HR and top management.

    6. Can the audit be used as a basis for performance evaluation?

Yes, if the organization so desires. The results can be integrated into individual development plans (IDPs), talent management processes, or the company's internationalization strategy.

    7. Is auditing also suitable for executive teams?

Absolutely. For C-level and senior management, the assessment may include simulated presentations, negotiations, or international representation situations, providing a realistic picture of strategic communication ability.

    8. What happens after the audit?

After completing the audit, IH Bucharest can propose a personalized corporate language training plan, structured around priorities, levels and measurable objectives. The company can choose to implement it immediately or use the report as a medium and long-term planning tool.
